Description:

Due to our inmate population increasing and the need to keep security a top priority, additional bunks were added in 2013. The facility was able to add 1 additional bunk to each of our 5 intake holding cells in booking and 2 additional bunks in each dorm area. Based on the addition of the new beds, our rated capacity increased from 160 to 175. The facility now has 159 general population beds (some of which can be used for special housing such as administrative/disciplinary segregation or Protective Custody), 13 fixed beds in intake holding, 1 padded cell, 1 medical isolation cell, and 1 large intake holding cell for intoxicated or overflow inmates. Of the 175 bed capacity, 28 of these beds may be used by the female population.The Harrison County Jail currently employs
